About JGE

John is a retired mechanical engineer and along with his wife Sue moved to Barnoldswick in 1999. They wanted to be near a canal because it has been a lifetime ambition to own their own narrow boat instead of hiring every year. In the year 2000 they purchased a new 55ft sailaway from Cole Craft and fitted it out themselves on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Lower Park Marina, Barnoldswick. During 2001 the boat called KENDA was given a Boat Safety Certificate and has since been CE marked. During the fit out John learnt a lot of the do's & don'ts, which encouraged him to become an Examiner.
