PREPARING YOUR BOAT FOR THE EXAMINATION
Preparing your boat before its examination does help the examiner and makes the whole process run smoothly.

1) Have the existing certificate to hand. This will help the examiner with information he requires to complete the paperwork.
2) Engine covers etc are removed or at least made easily removable
3) Batteries are fully charged and along with fuses easily accessible.
4) There is sufficient LPG to run the onboard appliances for at least 15 minutes.
5) If there is a gas water heater on board make sure there is sufficient water.
6) Provide full access to all gas joints and pipe work so they can be fully inspected
7) Unlock the gas locker.
8) If your boat is moored on private moorings inform the landowner so they are aware of the examiner’s visit.
